If I Should Have a Daughter…..
I will tell her to surrender to the fear of pain and not to transport herself away from the sting of loneliness.
She will learn that there is no scroll button to press that makes it all better. I will tell her to welcome the pain into her house and not to let it out until it has taught her a lesson.
If I should have a daughter, I will tell her if you can sit down today for “1.6 seconds in pure pain when yesterday you could only sit for 1.0 second you have gone through a journey of a warrior”
If I should have a daughter, I will tell her my job description is not to protect her from pain but to point out the pain and tell her this was meant for you. I will tell her the pain from overcoming struggles creates kindness, resiliency and compassion.
If I should have a daughter, I will tell her heartbreak is the emotional defeat that we all experience at one point or another. It is not to be avoided unless you confine yourself and never interact with humans or pets. I will tell her pain is the receipt that proves we once loved.
If I should have a daughter, and she equates herself to that false image in-front of her that instigates pain as she longs to be identical to that image, I will tell her I know that scene all too well and the world will throw curveballs at you to tempt you” “And my daughter” I will tell her, YOU ARE ENOUGH and YOU must believe in YOURSELF as I believe in YOU.
If I should have a daughter, I will tell her “you are my brave girl with enormous ambitions and a genuine heart that will comfort you as you continue to persistently rise above all despite all the hard-hitting lessons”
If I should have a daughter, and the heavy doors fall on her feet and make her cry in dark isolation, I will tell her, remember you once stood tall “And daughter” reflect on the battles you have won. If they try to limit your independency, tell them they really outta meet your resilient mother whom you call “support and the wind beneath your wings”.
If I should have a daughter, I would tell her your brother will certainly get the same advice…
